Two topics: The state of Project Management, credentials and information about the SWVA PMI Chapter PDLC and Lean-Agile Overview Speaker: SW Virginia PMI and Modea Teams Agenda: 6:00 – 7:00 – Food, Drink, Networking and Modea office tours 7:00 – 8:00 – Speakers/Presentation Presentation Content: The PMI team will talk about the state of Project Management in SW Virginia. Discussions about careers in project management, credentials and various opportunities and programs offered by the SW Virginia PMI Chapter. The Modea team will discuss how they utilize the Lean-Agile process to maximize client value with great efficiency. Lean-Agile provides the processes and tools we use to execute within each phase of the Product Development Life Cycle. Many shops who execute using an “Agile” process really just use Scrum. What sets us apart is our combination of traditional agile methods like Scrum and Lean management tools such as Kanban. This combination allows us to focus on reduction of waste and continuous improvement along with the speed to market and flexibility that you gain from Agile. In practice, a Lean-Agile project with Modea is run in product development sprints, where work is planned and executed in two week iterations. There is then a client-facing demo at the end of each sprint. With this and other touch points like daily stand-up meetings, we are both frequently demonstrating progress and maintaining consistent communication flow across our team and the client. Both help us to build a more effective solution. Speaker Bio: Modea - Digital Healthcare Interaction Specialists Modea is a digital consultancy, focused on digital business transformation for our clients.
