Topic: Defining Project Success Speaker: Dwayne K. Melton Agenda: 6:00– 6:45 pm – Networking and Food 6:45-7:00pm – Introductions and Chapter Business 7:00-8:00pm – Presentation – Dwayne K. Melton Presentation Content: Project Management has traditionally defined project success as a completed project that meets the scope requirements within the boundaries of budget and time allotment. However, there are definite instances of perceived project success in projects that violate those constraints. Research indicates the level of stakeholder satisfaction may override the conventional success factors. The specific problem of interest is that the impact of stakeholder management on long-term project success is not currently well understood. In response to this problem statement, a qualitative case study was conducted to assess the perspectives of project managers on the impact of stakeholder management in the context of long-term project success. This conversational presentation will provide data from the research conducted, address the assessment of project success, and encourage further research for measuring project success.
