PMI SWVA Chapter Event - Better Building Works: As Simple as Possible and Hard to Kill

Ways of Working

Successful project management is about making friends with the often chaotic nature of getting a project from vision to completion. Over the past fifteen years, we’re continually asking ourselves how we can do this better, and will share insights such as:

1. Project Management as a service: making it easy for clients and teams to understand the value

2. Communicating expectations from helping clients set objectives, to onsite cat-herding, to final payments

3. Measuring and Verifying for happy outcomes

Speaker Bio:

Monica Rokicki founded Better Building Works LLC in 2011 to bring building science principles to the design, construction, and maintenance of existing and newly constructed buildings. Prior experience includes ten years as Direct of Design and Sustainability at Balzer and Associates, Executive Director of an international scientific non-profit, and leadership on various boards including the Roanoke Regional Home Builders Association and USGBC Virginia. When not waxing poetic about the joys and conundrums of building science and the perfect Vesper Martini, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Ivan, their good dog, Ecco, and their bad dog, Fibonacci.
