February - Blockchain for Project Managers

Have you heard of blockchain or Web3? Perhaps you have recently seen stories in the news media about cryptocurrency/bitcoin, NFT, or the metaverse; however, you are unsure how these concepts impact the project management profession? In efforts to keep our PMI-chapter members up-to-date on the latest emerging technology and best practices for project managers, this program promises to bring multiple take-aways to get you started in building your blockchain toolbox.

Niki Weiss, a long-standing active member and volunteer of PMI DelVal Chapter, offers the information you need to stay ahead of the exciting BLOCKCHAIN movement. Niki is currently pursuing her Masters in Legal Studies with a concentration in data privacy & cybersecurity through Drexel's Kline School of Law. Through her studies as well as her involvement to international organizations of Government Blockchain Association, Global Blockchain Initiative/Blockchain Academy, Blockchain Training Alliance, and the International Association of Privacy Professionals, Niki built an advance knowledge of the blockchain environment. In this lesson, Niki will break down complex use cases into easily digestible information for project managers who are both new to blockchain.

Niki has held several roles within her local PMI chapter including Director of Volunteers, Director of Education, Disciplined Agile Champion, and most recently a member of the Board. She also works as a full-time project manager for the health insurance company, Cigna.
