Speaker Bio:

Samantha currently serves as an Entrepreneurship Professor and Innovation Officer at Virginia Western Community College.  

In and along-side this role, she’s created and/or contributed to six startup initiatives:

• Three coworking spaces, including CoLab, which is home to over 160 innovators
• A FabLab- business model on the Virginia Western campus (still in progress)
• A startup accelerator, RAMP, which is a public-partnership between Virginia Western Community College, the City of Roanoke and the Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council
• An Innovation Corridor (which is a long-term initiative with numerous regional partners)

She holds a Bachelors in Accounting, a Masters in Business Administration, and is currently working toward a PhD in Higher Education Leadership. 

Her research centers on revenue generation and business model innovation using design, systems and entrepreneurial thinking.

Her multi-dimensional experience with innovation has led to analyzing thousands of business models in an effort to increase organizational revenue and sustainability.

While she is dedicated to furthering her education, Samantha remains diligent about helping student, startups and ecosystem supporters foster job creation.
