COURSE OVERVIEW:

In the fall of 2015, the Virginia Chapter of HIMSS (VA HIMSS) embarked on a very exciting Project Management Special Interest Group (SIG) in partnership with the Project Management Institute’s VA Chapters (PMI).

The Project Management SIG allowed participants collaboration and professional development related to project management in the healthcare industry.

The lack of professionals in the Health and Information Management and Information Technology to perform the increasing amount of work related to the expansion of size and consolidation of the number of Health Care systems is a problem acutely felt by Chief Information Officers of medical practices. Often neither group knows the related and constraining policies, some federal and some that vary by state, nor how to budget for a proper IT implementation in a facility.

VA HIMSS and the VA PMI Chapters collaborated and are OFFERING A SOLUTION! YOU CAN BE PART OF THE ANSWER! Upon completion, attendees earn 8 PMI PDUs, 8 HIMSS CEUs and a certificate of completion.

Our class will be a dual track education session. The first track will be tailored to provide Healthcare content to Project Managers (cohort 1), and the second track will provide Project Management content for healthcare practitioners (cohort 2).
