Our newly elected Board members will technically start their term December 2022, but the transition period will extend through January 2023 in order to allow ample time for communication of election results to the winners by the PMI SWVA Election Committee and for the out-going officer(s) to transfer knowledge, system access, PMI-SWVA property, and relevant documentation to the in-coming officer(s).

Past President  

Vicki Kibbe

Cybersecurity Program Manager for Elevance Health, has a strong background in Information Technology and Project Management; earning her PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, SAFe and ITIL certifications. She spent many years in a variety of roles in both domestic and international markets and has strong experience and in-depth, cross functional business knowledge across virtually every functional area of the organization such as; insurance claims processing, healthcare, accounts receivable, merchandising, retail pricing, supply chain technology, call center solutions, VOIP, delivery of IT infrastructure and services, information security systems and Mobility Management. Her excellent strategic and tactical skills, enables her to solve complex problems while building confidence and trust in others. She motivates teams to perform at a high level of consistency delivering on project expectations and driving business results.

Vicki is a highly qualified, tenacious, and well-accomplished leader with a proven track record of successfully leading multiple projects and teams simultaneously to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions in challenging situations.  She motivates teams to perform at a high level of consistency delivering on project expectation and driving business results. One of Vicki hobbies is being a Corvette enthusiast.


Chapter President

Iliana Sepúlveda

Iliana is a Regional Planner for the Telecommunications Engineering Department at American Electric Power. A Certified Project Management Professional, she is currently serving as President-Elect for the PMI Southwest Virginia Chapter. She is also a co-founder and executive board member of Latinas Network of Roanoke and NRV, and a Leadership Roanoke Valley (LRV) alumn. 

Iliana has previously worked for the Mexican Federal Government in the Ministry of Economy as an advisor to the vice minister, as a consultant for the IFC World Bank’s Sustainable Advisory Office, and as a freelancer for several nonprofit organizations. Before joining AEP, Iliana was a consultant for the environmental engineering firm Golder Associates, now WSP.

Ms. Sepúlveda holds a Master's in Environmental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated cum laude with a BA in Economics from the Tecnologico de Monterrey in Mexico and holds a Bachelor's in Business Management from ESC Clermont-Ferrand in France. She lives in Roanoke, VA with her husband and son.

VP Programs 

Darryl Agee

Darryl Agee,  PMP®, PMI-ACP® is a certified project management professional, and the PMO Practice Lead for More Better Technology, a Roanoke start-up technology company that delivers digital transformation solutions for their clients. He has over 25 years of experience managing a wide variety of software development and systems implementation projects.  His experience spans a variety of projects and business initiatives, including healthcare, retail, supply-chain and includes both waterfall and agile projects and initiatives. 

Darryl is an experienced instructor and educator of project management including both the PMP® and PMI-ACP® Prep courses – teaching PMP® prep courses for the past 15 years, teaching project management for the local colleges including Virginia Western Community College and James Madison University’s Workforce programs. 

His passion for project management is also shared with his local PMI Chapter (the Southwest Virginia PMI Chapter) where he has been a board member for the past 15 years, serving as President, VP of Marketing and Communications and currently as the VP of Programs.  He is often a presenter, facilitator and coordinator of project management events and outreach with the chapter and the southwest Virginia community. 

Darryl became a PMP® in January of 2006, a PMI-ACP® in 2017, and holds an MBA from Auburn University at Montgomery, an MS in Computer Info Systems from the University of Phoenix, and BA in English from the Virginia Military Institute. 


VP of Treasury and Finance      

Chris Riha

Chris Riha is an experienced IT professional whose passion is using technology to improve healthcare outcomes.  Chris not only has a Physics based BS, and an MS degree in Health Sciences but also technical certifications as a Clinical Engineer, Project Manager, and Cybersecurity Professional with over 40 years of experience in information technology clinical systems development, implementation, and support.  Mr Riha has published as primary author 7 articles in peer review journals, and has worked as a consultant for the US Army, World Health Organization as well as number of large healthcare delivery organizations and is currently a guest lecturer at Virginia Tech in the Biomedical Engineering program.


 

VP of Administration

Sunshine Richards

 Sunshine Richards is an Associate Project Manager for PowerSchool and Cross Country Coach for Staunton River High School. Sunshine is motivated by finding ways to use her strengths to impact the community and those around her. She worked in criminal justice and education before moving into the world of educational technology.

In her time working in criminal justice, she oversaw a substance abuse therapeutic community program and partnered with a local animal rescue organization to develop a dog training program within a 352-bed prison facility. Within the public education sector, she managed truancy processes and coordinated state testing for a 900-student high school. Since moving to PowerSchool, she has helped to create a new manager panel series, bringing monthly training and discussions to managers and producing a follow-up newsletter highlighting insights and resources gained from the sessions.

Sunshine holds a BA in Psychology from Millersville University, an MS in Criminal Justice from Boston University, and is ABD in Educational Psychology through Walden University. She is currently engaged in PMP classes to take the exam in January 2023.

 When she’s not coaching or managing projects, she is reading, writing, or running ultras. (She likes her hobbies to alliterate.)

VP Membership

Emma von der Lieth

Emma von der Lieth is a Project Assistant, CAPM® at Delta  Dental of Virginia. Ms. von der Lieth has been with Delta  Dental of Virginia since March 2020 and earned the promotion  of Project Assistant from Senior Administrative Assistant in  March 2022. In her position as Project Assistant, Ms. von der  Lieth provides executive assistance to the Chief Operating  Officer and assists with Sales, Account Management, Network,  and Operations projects. Ms. von der Lieth is also a part of the  Smile Ambassadors program within Delta Dental of Virginia.  The Smile Ambassadors are a group of select employees who  work closely with the Director of the Delta Dental of Virginia  non-profit Foundation to develop volunteer plans and  encourage employees to give back to their community, with a  focus on oral health. In addition, Ms. von der Lieth was  nominated to participate in a 10-week leadership course  provided by Delta Dental of Virginia for upcoming leaders  within the organization, and successfully completed the  course. 

Prior to her work with Delta Dental of Virginia, Ms. von der  Lieth was a Project Coordinator for Metis Insurance.  

During the summer of 2019, Ms. von der Lieth volunteered in  Athens, Greece with Melissa Network, a grassroots non-profit  organization that provides services to women and children  refugees. At this organization, Ms. von der Lieth assisted the  organization as an Early Childhood Educator and developed  lesson plans for children ranging in grade levels from  kindergarten to high school. As a part of this non-profit, Ms.  von der Lieth participated in Volunteer Coordination meetings  with volunteers from similar organizations in Greece. The  purpose of these Volunteer Coordination meetings was to  develop partnership plans and share best practices.  

In her free time, Ms. von der Lieth enjoys taking her weekly  modern Greek language courses, reading novels, and walking  the Roanoke greenway. She lives with her husband in  downtown Roanoke. 

Education: B.A. International Relations with French Minor, Roanoke College; Phi Beta Kappa Member.
