"Join us at the next Tech and Toast on September 21 as we learn about project management trends from members of the Southwest Virginia Project Management Institute chapter (SWVA PMI).
Globally, organizations have found the value of project management methods, helping to ensure projects occurring on time; on budget and that, they meet the needs of the organization. This presentation will provide a brief overview of Project Management, discuss global and local Project Management organizations, which direct and advance the Project Management profession and provide an overview of the newest trends in Project Management. As one of the 280 global Project Management chapters founded in 2003, the Southwest Virginia chapter’s mission is “Fostering a community of Project Management excellence in Southwest Virginia” through networking and training opportunities. As this chapter has grown, it has seen the paradigm shift of project management techniques from traditional PM phases (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Control and Close) frameworks to Agile frameworks. It is also seeing a strong growth of change management techniques that are soon to impact the profession.
Come out to this presentation to learn more about these new techniques and the local resources at your disposal. Finally, we will give you a sneak preview of our 2017 all day symposium focusing on Realizing Your Project Management Peak Performance in October of 2017. You won’t want to miss this presentation brought to you by your local PMI chapter!"
