Sunshine Richards is an Associate Project Manager for PowerSchool and Cross Country Coach for Staunton River High School. Sunshine is motivated by finding ways to use her strengths to impact the community and those around her. She worked in criminal justice and education before moving into the world of educational technology.
In her time working in criminal justice, she oversaw a substance abuse therapeutic community program and partnered with a local animal rescue organization to develop a dog training program within a 352-bed prison facility. Within the public education sector, she managed truancy processes and coordinated state testing for a 900-student high school. Since moving to PowerSchool, she has helped to create a new manager panel series, bringing monthly training and discussions to managers and producing a follow-up newsletter highlighting insights and resources gained from the sessions.
Sunshine holds a BA in Psychology from Millersville University, an MS in Criminal Justice from Boston University, and is ABD in Educational Psychology through Walden University. She is currently engaged in PMP classes to take the exam in January 2023.
When she’s not coaching or managing projects, she is reading, writing, or running ultras. (She likes her hobbies to alliterate.)
